Наверное не мне одному пришло письмо от инициативной группы польских пилотов, предлагающих выделить соревнования по полётам на открытую дальность в отдельную дисциплину ФАИ, наряду с соревнованиями ХС, на точность приземления, акро.
Dear All,
we are a group of Polish pilots who love to fly Cross Country, like to share our passion with friends and fly together with them.
We regard XC Open Distance Paragliding to be the essence of paragliding.
Worldwide the overwhelming majority of pilots thinks the same, as the numbers of various Online Contests show compared to pilots who fly acro, accuracy or paragliding race competitions.
Yet while there are official World Champions of acro or accuracy, there is no World Championship in Open XC flying.
In two weeks there will be the annual CIVL plenary meeting in Taiwan (16-19 Feb).
The delegate from Poland Jędrzej Jaxa-Rożen will present there our idea of establishing a new FAI discipline (please find attached files with the proposal and a FAQ).
We hope that you share this idea with us. If you want to see the free XC flying recognized as a FAI discipline, tell about it your friends, delegates and officials.
Make sure that your CIVL delegate will vote yes during the Taipei plenary meeting or - if they are not attending - make sure they will pass on their proxy vote for other delegates to use.
The success depends on all of us.
Best regards from Poland
